Our Fishtail Paipo bellyboards are made from 9mm thick, Okoume Marine ply. Okoume is a hardwood so has a lot of strength, but retains a good amount of flex. The flex in a board enhances the bellyboarding experience as you can really feel the power of the wave beneath you, and it helps to make it more agile. Okoume also has the benefit of being very light – the board weighs only 1.6Kg.
The board is 110cm long , 39cm wide at the widest point, tapering down to 36cm at the tail. There is a slight rocker curve at the nose built into the design.
The shaping and width of the board ensures that you can transfer your weight very easily in order to make super sharp turns - exhilarating fun in larger waves! It also works really well as a simple bellyboard, catching a wave easily from no more than waist deep water. It is truly a 'one board does all'.
After shaping and sanding, the Moorboards logo is laser engraved, before the stripe is added, using our antique wood stain. Next, several coats of a quality water-based varnish are applied. This satin finish offers total, maintenance free protection and great looks.
You can have the back of the board personalised (example in the photo) to celebrate an anniversary, occasion, or simply to have your name applied, (Maximum 15 words) at NO EXTRA COST. ** Please note** Dispatch time for personalised boards is ‘up to’ 10 days. (More usually around 5 days - We always aim to make this as quick as possible) This is because the board is varnished after the engraving and, with several coats to apply, we are restricted by drying times in-between coats.
**Non-personalised boards are usually in stock and ready for immediate dispatch.

As shipping costs are currently changing regularly, we prefer to do it this way, so that you pay a fair price. (Rather than charging a large flat fee to cover ourselves)
